CCR1 (chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 1)

چکیده
Note CCR1, a member of the beta chemokine receptor family, is a seven transmembrane protein similar to G protein-coupled receptors. CCR1 is the first human CC chemokine receptor to be identified at the cDNA level. It has a functional viral homolog, US28, which is a human cytomegalovirus. The ligands of this receptor include macrophage inflammatory protein 1 alpha (MIP-1 alpha), regulated on activation normal T expressed and secreted protein (RANTES), monocyte chemoattractant protein 3 (MCP-3), and myeloid progenitor inhibitory factor-1 (MPIF-1). This gene and other chemokine receptor genes, including CCR2, CCRL2, CCR3, CCR5 and CCXCR1, form a gene cluster on chromosome 3p. Description

C-C motif chemokine CCL3 and canonical neutrophil attractants promote neutrophil extravasation through common and distinct mechanisms.
Initial observations suggested that C-C motif chemokines exclusively mediate chemotaxis of mononuclear cells. In addition, recent studies also implicated these chemotactic cytokines in the recruitment of neutrophils. The underlying mechanisms remained largely unknown. Using in vivo microscopy on the mouse cremaster muscle, intravascular adherence and subsequent paracellular transmigration of ne...
متن کاملInactivation of chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 1 (CCR1) suppresses colon cancer liver metastasis by blocking accumulation of immature myeloid cells in a mouse model.
Recent reports have suggested critical roles of myeloid cells in tumor invasion and metastasis, although these findings have not led to therapeutics. Using a mouse model for liver dissemination, we show that mouse and human colon cancer cells secrete CC-chemokine ligands CCL9 and CCL15, respectively, and recruit CD34(+) Gr-1(-) immature myeloid cells (iMCs). They express CCL9/15 receptor CCR1 a...
متن کاملC-C motif chemokine receptor 1 (CCR1) is a target of the EGF-AKT-mTOR-STAT3 signaling axis in breast cancer cells
The CC motif chemokine receptor 1 (CCR1) has been implicated in tumor invasion and metastasis in numerous cancers. However, the detailed mechanism of CCR1 upregulation in metastatic tumor cells is poorly understood. The aim of this study was to clarify the regulatory mechanism underlying transcriptional activation of the CCR1 gene in response to epidermal growth factor (EGF) stimulation in brea...
متن کاملFunctional expression of CCR1, CCR3, CCR4, and CXCR4 chemokine receptors on human platelets.
Platelets are known to contain platelet factor 4 and beta-thromboglobulin, alpha-chemokines containing the CXC motif, but recent studies extended the range to the beta-family characterized by the CC motif, including RANTES and Gro-alpha. There is also evidence for expression of chemokine receptors CCR4 and CXCR4 in platelets. This study shows that platelets have functional CCR1, CCR3, CCR4, and...
متن کاملThe effect of CCL3 and CCR1 in bone remodeling induced by mechanical loading during orthodontic tooth movement in mice.
Bone remodeling is affected by mechanical loading and inflammatory mediators, including chemokines. The chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 3 (CCL3) is involved in bone remodeling by binding to C-C chemokine receptors 1 and 5 (CCR1 and CCR5) expressed on osteoclasts and osteoblasts. Our group has previously demonstrated that CCR5 down-regulates mechanical loading-induced bone resorption. Thus, the pre...
